Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck's Wish List

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT

Summer camp is off and running and with several new outlooks on the horizon. One new program that we have infused into our schedule at Camp Pa-Qua Tuck, courtesy of the DEC, is our Fishing Program. Thanks go out to Bob Mc Cormack, an environmental education staff member at the DEC, who reached out to me last winter while there was a foot of snow covering Kaler’s Pond. Not only did Bob come along with other staff members to instruct our staff how to safely bait a hook, store a pole that is not in use, and carry a loaded pole to the dock, but these DEC staffers went further: they donated adapted equipment for our campers to use. To enjoy the things that typical people enjoy in the summer is our goal here at the camp…we just have to make continuous adaptations. To have Bob and the DEC reach out to us, offer instruction, and then equip us … well, that was a ray of sunshine we never saw coming and appreciate immensely. | READ MORE
