Group of Local Women Coordinate Fundraisers to Support Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck

(Center Moriches, NY) — Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck Board President Kevin Spellman swore in the 2016 members of the Moriches Paquatuck Squaws’ Executive Board during the group’s meeting on January 28. The Paquatuck Squaws are a group of more than 30 women who meet once a month to discuss, plan and execute fundraisers for the special-needs summer camp based in Center Moriches.
The 2016 Executive Board members, who will serve one year, are as follows:
- President: Dorothy Elliott
- Vice President: Jane Miller
- Recording Secretary: Mary Goehring
- Treasurer: Gerri Cannilas
- Correspondence Secretary: Lisa Schlect
- Publicity: Deb Donohue
- Sick and Welfare: Carmella Swinton
- Camp Board: Marcella Weiss
- Member at Large: Michele Tyrell
- Member at Large: Irene Carlough
Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is a resident summer camp designed for young people ages six to 21 with special needs. Its mission is to help children and adults achieve equality, dignity and maximum independence through a safe and quality program of camping, recreation and education in a summertime environment. Throughout the program, campers participate in typical summer camp activities, such as arts and crafts, talent shows, cook-outs, swimming and boating.
