Moriches Paquatuck Squaws Raise $133,000 for Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck
On January 21, the Rotary Club of The Moriches honored the members of the Moriches Paquatuck Squaws at its annual dinner at Ladakins Restaurant in Moriches for their hard work in the raising of funds for Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck. The Squaws raised $133,000 for Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck over the past 12 months.
The Paquatuck Squaws are a group of more than 30 women who meet once a month to discuss, plan, and execute fund raisers for Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck, a resident summer camp for children with special needs, in Center Moriches.
Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is a resident summer camp designed for young people ages 6-21 with special needs. Its mission is to help children and adults achieve equality, dignity, and maximum independence through a safe and quality program of camping, recreation, and education in a summertime environment. Throughout the program, campers participate in typical summer camp activities, such as arts and crafts, talent shows, cook-outs, swimming and boating.
