Each session is designed to help the campers achieve equality, dignity, and maximum independence through a safe and quality program of camping, recreation, and education in a summertime environment. The camp aims to help each child reach beyond the limits of their physical and mental challenges, encouraging them to join fellow campers in activities.
Check-in for the weekly sessions is from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Check-out is by 11 a.m. A late fee of $25 per hour will be assessed if the camper is not picked up by check-out time. Registration is $825 for a weekly session.
“We are looking forward to having new campers attend the camp this season,” said Camp Director Bridget Costello. “These children will definitely enjoy themselves with all the fun-filled activities that the camp has to offer. It will be a summer that they will remember forever.”
The Camp is also looking for contributors interested in sponsoring a child’s experience. For more information, or to register your child, call Johneen or Bridget at (631) 878-1070, email camppaquatuck@optonline.net or visit http://www.camppaquatuck.com.
2013 Weekend Respite Program
We hold a weekend respite program throughout the year, transforming the 60-plus-year-old camp into a year-round destination for children with disabilities. These respite weekends give special-needs children up to the age of 21 the chance to enjoy themselves and the parents a chance to relax while their children are being taken care of.
The cost of each weekend (Friday to Sunday) is $350. The camp requires a $50 deposit per session which is non-refundable unless registration is cancelled 30 days prior to the session.
Check-in for campers is by 8 p.m. on Friday and check-out is by 3 p.m. on Sunday. Up to 14 campers will be admitted for each weekend. During those weekends, the camp will be staffed by five counselors and the camp nurse.
The camp asks that the campers bring their linens since theirs are packed away for the winter. They will need sheets, blanket, pillow, towel, and toiletries.
For more information and to register your child, contact Johneen or Bridget at 631-878-1070 or e-mail us at camppaquatuck@optonline.net.
