We hope you are all doing well. We’re very excited about the 2020 summer program. Our rates and the schedule have been posted on Facebook and our website. This also includes respite dates.
Please note there have been a few changes that we have made based on feedback from our families, campers, staff and community. This includes changes in the programming, registration, schedule and rates.
Let’s start with the programming. We have made changes in staff and programming curriculum. You’ll be able to see this in our brand-new Camper Handbook! This handbook includes everything you need to know about the camp. You’ll find policies, schedules, philosophies and curriculum information here as well as other information that you should have on hand. When you register, you will be able to download the handbook and it will also be available on the website in January. This summer we will have many more staff on hand to help with programming, housekeeping and camper care.
This brings me to our registration updates. We are now doing registration online through CampDoc. The link to do this will go online January 7th through our website and Facebook. This platform will enable you to register all of the information online and choose your sessions. Next year you won’t have to fill it out again, you simply review the information and choose your session. We will bill you after you have registered. This platform will allow us to keep in touch, fine tune our record keeping, break down data and also to communicate with you more easily.
Please note that our tuition went up. This is in light of several factors that include: minimum wage increases, increase in staff numbers, increase in insurance and increase in overall costs of operating camp. Hopefully we will not need to raise the tuition again for another few years. Thanks to the efforts of the Paquatuck Squaws, Rotarians, Patrons, Board of Directors and other contributors, we have been able to keep the cost low and the rate increases have not been significant. The camp is extremely grateful to everyone who donates and continues to do so together for the good of the camp. If you need any financial assistance, please reach out to us as we have scholarships available.
Our schedule has also changed. We are including more options for our younger population and we moved the dates so they don’t conflict as much with school schedules.
