Summer is an amazing opportunity for all children, especially those with a disability to experience freedom and get away from the confines of school and home. Camp offers a unique learning environment meant to foster individual growth and enhance self awareness. It’s a place where they can feel free to be themselves and find others to develop friendships with.
As the camp season comes to a close, annual events hosted by Camp Paquatuck begin. The ultimate goal of these activities is to raise money for the camp and campers that attend. There are many events to look forward to before the start of the camp season of 2020.
Summer may seem far away, but here at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck we are already planning for the 2019 camp season and working to make sure it’s the best year yet. That’s why we would like to tell you about the Camp’s newest project – a new swimming pool for the kids.
Recently, personal demands have increased and are creating more demands on my “non-professional” hours. As a result, I may not be able to give full attention to the camp as I have for the last decade. And I do not want to short change the camp. And so, it is with reluctance but contentment that I tender my resignation as the Executive Director.
And Build a New Pool for the Kids This Summer!
Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is a summer sleep-away camp where children with physical and developmental disabilities can build self-esteem and experience social and personal growth.
In order to make this summer experience an incredible one, we are working to raise $250,000 to construct a new swimming pool.
